Tourism and Hospitality Sector Hardship Grant
Grants of up to $100,000 are available for eligible tourism and hospitality operators who have faced significant financial hardship because of COVID-19 travel restrictions and lockdowns.
Who can apply?
- Operating in Queensland in the tourism and hospitality sector
- Annual turnover of $75,000
- Employ at least 1 employee in your Queensland operations
- 70% decline in turnover for your Queensland operations over a 7-day consecutive period between 1 July 21 and 30 September 21 compared to the same period in either 2018-19, 2019-20 or 2020-21 (or in a comparable period)
- Have experienced significant impacts in relation to COVID-19 travel restrictions and interstate lockdowns to your Queensland operations.
Applications for the first payment close on Monday 22 November 2021.
Applications can be submitted on the Queensland Government Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport web site.

2021 COVID-19 Business Support Grants
Businesses and not-for-profits may be eligible for financial support if it has been affected by either of:
- The August 2021 COVID-19 lockdowns in Queensland
- The closure of the Queensland – New South Wales border (and is located in the border business zone)
Overview of available funding & closing dates
Employing Queensland businesses may be entitled to grants of between $10,000 and $30,000. |

Non-employing Queensland sole traders may be eligible for grants of $1,000. |

Employing businesses operating in the boarder business zone may be entitled to grants of $5,000. |
|
Non-employing sole traders operating in a boarder business zone may be entitled to grants of $5,000. |
